Blue Heron Pale Ale - Soon in a 12 Pack!

February 21, 2001 -- After the runaway success of the Red Tail Ale 12 pack, consumers have been asking for a Blue Heron 12 Pack. And their wish is going to be granted. Soon.

When the Red Tail Ale 12 pack was released about 18 months ago, loyal consumers of our great ales were happy. Very happy. Besides the convenience of the 12 bottles, there was the extremely distinct packaging and imagery that Mendocino Brewing Company has been renowned for.

Of course, once that product was out in a 12 pack, we began to get inquiries as to when we were intending to launch a Blue Heron 12 Pack. Starting mid-2000 the advertising and marketing teams at the company began formulating plans and strategies to launch a 12 pack for Blue Heron by the end of the first quarter of 2001.

Many designs were looked at and finally the group decided on a striking graded blue background for the pack – a quantum leap, as it were from the existing black 6 pack. We also believed that it would be better to add more information about the product and the way in which we brew our beers. Most of our beers are “Bottle Conditioned” – which means that we add our own special proprietary yeast to the beer as it is being bottled. This process adds value to the flavor and taste of our beers and quite frankly is what makes them so special! We have designed a medallion that will appear on all our “Bottle Conditioned” beers and seeing that you will know that beer is indeed special.

Of course the beer in the bottles is still the same great Blue Heron.

We are very excited about the forthcoming launch of this new 12 pack for Blue Heron. We know that our loyal consumers will be pleased.
